It's easy to get here either by car, bus, plane (Kuusamo/car rental possible) or train (Kemijärvi approx. 130 km to ruka/car train station). Whatever suits you best!
A new lift station has just been opened in Ruka (on the Vuosseli side) and new slopes, and the area will be heavily invested in the next few years, which will only improve and develop the already good service network.

In Ruka, you can quickly get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the opportunities offered by nature from morning to night. In the summer season, hiking in Karhunkierkos or rafting in the wonderful scenery of Oulanga National Park is an absolute destination. In the winter season, the best thing is to go skiing or skiing on Ruka's high-quality slopes and trails for the whole day. Or what if you rode a snowmobile to the top of the fells, to the shed to fry sausage and drink soot pot coffee. Maybe a reindeer sleigh ride or just to spend a relaxing day in a versatile cabin, having a sauna, eating and enjoying good company and the warmth of the fireplace!
Ruka Star/6-8 peop.
Ruka Star is an approx. 75 m2 semi-detached B apartment right near Rukatunturi (approx. 2.5 km from the nearest lift station and approx. 300 m to the Ski Bus). Walking to Rukakylä approx. 2,5 km. All Ruka's services right next door. The ski slopes are located right next to the cottage and you can easily reach the sledding trails. The cottage is located in a quiet area at the end of Rytilammentie road.
The cottage has two floors. Downstairs there are two bedrooms (both with two beds that can be separated or made into a double bed), a toilet and an atmospheric sauna, a kitchen, a living room and a spacious terrace. Downstairs there is also a beautiful Tulikivi fireplace, a large new multimedia TV and possibility of karaoke with two microphones.
The cabin has a spacious hallway, a drying cabinet and a ventilation system covering the entire house, as well as underfloor heating in every room.
The upper floor has sleeping places for 3-4 people, a toilet and a game/media-corner equipped with a PS5 (paid service). A massage chair may be coming upstairs for the season 24-25.
There is plenty of space outside for two or even 3 cars and a small outdoor storage room for storing equipment.
The cabin has very comprehensive equipment, which is updated all the time as needed.
There is a wide range of kitchen utensils and equipment (dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, etc.) There is a washing machine in the downstairs toilet.
The cabin's equipment also includes a very comprehensive selection of different board games and a popular Fondue/Raclette multicooker for evening parties, with which you can always prepare a nice evening meal for the whole group.
There are also two JBL portable bluetooth speakers and two headlamps.
The basic equipment includes e.g. basic spices (salt, pepper, general seasoning, etc.), oils, mustard/ketchup, laundry detergents, soaps (hand/body>selection varies), bath fragrances, hand and kitchen towels, toilet and paper towels, as well as comprehensive cleaning tools, etc.
During the ski season (starting from season 25-26), TWO (x 2) SKIPASSES are included on rent! Price range 200-500 €!!
